The purpose of this trip is to teach a session or so at a pastors' conference in Calgary. The conference is hosted by Ken Gill and the Ripple Network. (Click on the link to see my photo and bio!)
It might seem a long way to go for a small input into a conference, but I really believe that the Lord wants me to be there. People who are close to me know that I am not into travelling for the sake of travelling, and I only grab these opportunities when I feel that God is telling me to go. So there will be blessings for me in being obedient.

While I'm away, I expect to be contactable by email. I will be blogging regularly and hopefully uploading photos. You can find my blog here I expect that in a city of 1 million people that internet facilities should be easy to find.
I will also be taking my mobile phone. Unfortunately the high cost of international roaming (Exetel wanted a deposit of $300 to initiate this) means that I won't be taking my number with me. I intend to get a prepaid SIM card and I have set up Voice Over Internet Protocol which means that when my phone is on the internet I can call home for nearly free, and Margaret can call me more cheaply.
Calgary is 16 hours behind Narrabri in time. It is also located 1000m above sea level, meaning it is quite cool, even though it is spring there. The last couple of weeks it has warmed up a little so that their average temperatures are now in the low 20s (Celsius). On average it snows on two days in May, so it could turn quite cold there still.

I'm looking forward to the experience, and I know that good things are going to come out of it!
I hope you have a wonderful, productive and safe trip. Wave as you fly past Florida!
