We are standing at a moment where the tide is just starting to turn.
There is a sense in me of greater things ahead, as if the momentum of the last few years has dissipated and something new is happening- perhaps a corner turned, or a new season. It's as if after months of winter, we wake up and find that we didn't need the extra blanket on the bed or the heater running all day.
Maybe cold days will return, and more frosts, but certainly spring is here.
Over the last few weeks we've had visiting truck drivers, new people coming to church and cell group, a new level of prayer on Wednesday nights, a sense of purpose and destiny in cell groups, more people sharing on Sunday mornings.
It's not revival.
But the signs of a new momentum are starting to emerge.
Come Holy Spirit, come!
:)
ReplyDeleteAnd the cool, crazy thing is, it is just happening. It is not as if any of us have jumped through certain hoops and therefore stuff is happening (as if we could). It is God on the move (and us perhaps choosing to be obedient) - and that's exciting.
ReplyDeleteMuch better when God does it than when we start an "Evangelism Explosion" programme or whatever... not that I'm against evangelism, but so much of what the church does is actually just human energy rather than Holy Spirit.
