I went for a walk down the highway, south of Narrabri. There just near the entrance to the property "Coniston" I came across this echidna. He was huge- probably about 75 cm long at least. I'm guessing he saw me before I saw him as he was very still.

It's the first time I've been up close to an echidna in the wild.
