Today's Photos

It seems that cockatoos are catching up with galahs as the predominant birds at the moment. A screech of about 100 flew overhead this afternoon. Pelicans aren't far behind them- there seems to be several families on the lake today.

What are the appropriate collective nouns for these birds do you think? I've suggested a screech of cockatoos. How about a scoop of pelicans?
:D

  1. It's just amazing to see these birds in the wild. We have cockatoos here but only in cages although I would imagine at some point some may escape and populate the area. We had that happen with monkeys lately.

  2. Monkeys tend not to fly as gracefully as cockatoos though. :)
