Today's Journeys

Today I travelled from Newcastle to Sydney to take Susannah to college. We left at 10 am and I was back just after 4, having deposited the girl and her stuff, installed her computer and done a little shopping. (Of course I had to make the compulsory trip to collect baby stuff- another pick up tomorrow also.)

On the way back, I pulled over for a cup of coffee and discovered my "giddy goat" of a daughter left her purse in the back of the van, probably while unloading her bags. I stopped off at Toronto Post Office to post it back to her. The people reassured me that Express Post will definitely get it there tomorrow. Well I will be praying.

Meanwhile Centrelink continue to wreak their vengeance for us resigning from their benefits. Susannah discovered 7 letters from them and several copies of one form which we had already submitted. One letter, sent to her term address, said that since she is not there for the holidays she will be paid at the living at home rate- fair enough, but why send it to her term address when they have both addresses? Anyway it appears that someone has failed to press a button on a computer somewhere and she may have been cut off- or not.

Since we stopped receiving Centrelink benefits we have wasted far ore of our time filling forms on behalf of our children than we did when we were getting help.

I'm looking forward to travelling home tomorrow in time for the start of the weekend of prayer.
Bureaucrats-- you've got to love them! (But only because Jesus told us to!)
