Today was my first Scripture lesson for the year at Bellata School. I have about a dozen Year 3 to Year 6 children. Today was an introductory lesson so it was fairly light. At the end though I asked them what were some questions about God they would like to talk about in the course of the year.
Here are some of the answers:
* Is God really there?
* Does God hear our prayers?
* Can God help us?
* Why can't we see God?
* Where is God?
* Is God alive?
These are very big questions from my little people. They are also signs that God is working in their lives.
I'm looking forward to getting to know them all this year and to help them think about the answers to the questions.
My grandson, aged 2 1/2 was told he was soon to have a young sibling. He stated it should be a boy, he wanted a brother. My daughter explained that it was not our choice, but God's choice to give us a boy or girl. He said, "Fine, I'll just pray and we'll get the boy".Needless to say, it offered the opportunity to explain that God answers all prayers, but not always the way we would like.

ReplyDeleteSo true, and something even we as adults need to remember sometimes!
