Australia is a really bizarre place at times!
As we approach the Federal election which must occur before the end of the year, it seems that the name "Kevin" might just become cool. I don't want to offend the Kevins reading this, but, you know, the name sort of has this kind of dull reputation... it's right up there with Keith
Labor's latest campaign slogan is "Kevin07" and there is a web-site http://kevin07.com which looks attractive, cool and in touch with people.
I think that there is a real possibility that for the first time in over a decade Labor has a real chance of winning the next election
Both sides of politics have a lot of good policies and a lot of bad policies, and christians really need to pray hard about who to vote for.
The last few weeks I've found myself feeling that the current Government has become too focused on short-term political expediency at the expense of respect for people. The Haneef affair is probably about the worst of these, but the aboriginal intervention is taking a nasty turn and the taking over of the Tasmanian hospital was just stupid in government terms even if it wins a few votes in a marginal electorate.
On ya Kev!
But let's keep praying for leaders in all political parties.
Blessings
Keith
