Possess the Land

Many people misunderstand the role of prophetic words in the way God works.

They assume that because God says something, it will inevitably work out that way.

"Wow! God wants me to have a huge youth ministry". Fifty years later they are still waiting for the youth ministry to arise.

We need to understand prophecy more in the sense of the direction to walk rather than the assurance of a plane flight to the destination.

The Lord promised Moses that He would lead the Israelites to a land flowing with milk and honey. Yet Moses still had to lead the people out of Egypt, and later they had to fight for the land that God had promised.

Nearly 11 years ago the Lord told me that I was to leave my denomination and plant a church that will grow to be 1000 people. I couldn't just sit there and wait for it to happen. There were things that I needed to do in response to that word. In fact, the word has been to me an assurance that we are in the right place doing the right thing more than a guarantee of success- it is both these things but the guarantee is conditional on me moving in obedience to God.

What vision has God planted in your heart? What prophecies have been spoken over you about your future?

What are you doing to move forward in obedience to that word?

Faithfulness to God's plan does not mean we have to strive to make it happen. But it does mean that we will have to work hard under His direction.

Blessings
