Scripture
Look I am creating new heavens and a new earth and no one will think of the old ones any more.
Observation
The Lord shows Isaiah a new order, a new universe. God is in the process of creating this new thing and in the fullness of time we will see it.
There will be no more weeping and crying. Everyone will live a full life. Peace and prosperity will be the order of the day and invaders and soldiers will no longer come to steal people's property.
Even the animal world will be tamed, with the violence of the carnivores taken away.
Application
We live in a world where there is much suffering, endless dying. At the heart of all of this is sin which has corrupted the creation which God pronounced to be good.
God is in the process of redeeming all of creation. We will one day see a world in which death is once again banished and all forms of sin are brought to an end.
Prayer
Thank you Father for the hope of a redeemed, recreated world in which there is no more death or suffering. Help me to fulfil my part in this grand plan that you have for the world. Amen.
