Christian Unity

Tonight I went to an Induction Service for the new Presbyterian Minister in town.

Two things struck me:

1. It was hot! It's been a hot day in Narrabri and this old brick church operates on the oven principle! Somebody needs to splash out for an air conditioner.

2. The main point is this-- every minister in town was there, and even the Uniting Church which is currently without a minister was represented. Well done Narrabri Church!

Phil, the new minister, is a gracious and down to earth kind of guy, and I'm sure we will get on well with him.

One elderly lady was heard to say: "we are so glad to have Phil- he will be our saviour." Oh dear... there is only one saviour, and His name is Jesus. Let's pray that this unrealistic expectation on a man (even a man of God) will be changed.
