We've had a good weekend in Newcastle/ Sydney.
We got to see Susannah yesterday and have lunch with her. If you ever want to have good food in Sydney, particularly at Concord, go to Majors Bay Cafe. What they call a sandwich would probably feed an army, and excellent quality. I'm still full!
Then we went to Oxford Falls to Christian City Church to see the screening of Philip's short film. It was very well done and in a light-hearted way shows how a simple act of kindness can change another person's life.
Philip is very talented and creative. I'm sure that when he finishes his course at the end of the year, he'll walk into some interesting job in the television industry.
It was good to see some of the other productions there also. It's great to see the church nurturing these creative people and sowing hem how to use their gifts for God's glory.
In other news, we were woken up this morning by a phone call to tell us that Tim had been taken to hospital. He's had an ulcer in his mouth for over a week and it has got infected. He's back home with a prescription for antibiotics, so we're praying he'll soon bounce back.
That sounds like a wonderful weekend, up until your phone call about Tim. Do they post the films anywhere on the internet? I would love to see them.
ReplyDeletePhil, you undersell your creative talent! Yes technically the prospectus looks flashier, but your was much more emotive- the pathos, the tears, the comedy, and all in three minutes!
ReplyDeleteSome upload them, some don't. One of the other guys has his short film on youtube. I might upload mine at some point if I get around to it. The prospectus DVD for SCA (which is what I've been working on all year) will soon be available and it looks a lot nicer than my film. :P
ReplyDeleteWe got home safely with the usual car load of goodies. The only incident was a swipe at a dog at Baan Baa that decided to cross the highway without looking. There seems to be no damage to the car, and the dog limped away.
ReplyDeleteWell okay if you're all going to twist my arm about it. :Phttp://www.youtube.com/user/levlylove - got my short film here and another little project I whipped up in about an hour (plus the time it took to take the various photos and video). Also, http://www.youtube.com/user/changefilm has some other works of mine... The Change preaches. Live directing, occasional camera, and splitting up the messages to fit on youtube. They may not be as creative but hey, I was still involved with them and I like to plug it to get more views. :P
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I'm going to sue you for using unauthorised images from New Life. :)You didn't think I'd really watch it did you?
ReplyDeleteExcellent film! I loved the way you showed the various segments in reverse order. It certainly brings to realization the importance of being kind to strangers. Please keep posting these links as you create more films!
