They were a little confused though. As I first walked past they were all safely hidden in the reeds, but then they did the sensible thing and headed for the safety of the open water. If they hadn't moved I wouldn't have known they were there :)
Isn't it amazing how God has been thoughtful enough to provide them with such a great camoflauge. Even something small like a duck. Reminds me of "God sees the little sparrow fall".
i am often amazed at the Grass Parrots we have here. Their tops are dull green so that when they are on the ground you can almost step on top of them without knowing they are there. But in the air- their undersides are a riot of colour. Beautiful creatures!
They are beautiful - I looked them up and I can see how well hidden they could be in the grass. We used to have the ordinary green parrots when we lived in Cape Coral, which is about 100 miles south of here. My son in law's parents had flocks of them - some kind of seeds that grew near their house attracted them. I guess it's not warm enough here for them.
