The Exploitation Of Women & Big Abortion Bucks
The Rev Fred Nile MLC has stated that we shouldn't be surprised by the "greed" of abortionist Dr Suman Sood. "Dr Sood is just one abortionist that has been caught out. The NSW abortion industry as a whole is enjoying another bumper year as they continue to make large financial gains by exploiting vulnerable women in an unregulated industry. Not only does the abortion industry get a tax-payer funded rebate for each abortion conducted, but many are also then charging these women an extra fee, arbitrarily determined and paid in untraceable cash.
The sad irony is that this industry seeks to legitimise their existence by citing the need to relieve the mental stress and anguish suffered by these women, yet in fact they are contributing to it by their morally reprehensible actions", stated Rev Nile.
The Rev Fred Nile has been calling on the Government to conduct a full public review of the industry and to ensure the protection and support for women experiencing an unwanted pregnancy.
As far back as March 1st 2005, Reverend Fred Nile MLC raised the issue with the NSW Government. "Is it a fact that private abortion clinics in New South Wales charge clients $200 in cash over and above the Medicare rebate? Is it a fact that in Tweed heads an abortion clinic charges women with no Medicare card anything up to $600 cash extra for an abortion procedure? Is it a fact that at a Sydney abortion clinic a receptionist also serves as an untrained counsellor for women seeking an abortion? What has the Government done to protect vulnerable women from such exploitative behaviour? Will the Government launch a full review of the private abortion industry in New South Wales, including the evasion of State and Federal taxes?
Morris Iemma, then Minister for Health, responded on April 6th 2005 by stating that "the NSW Department of Health does not regulate the market of private facilities performing terminations of pregnancy." He then deferred all responsibility to the Federal Government.
